The root of this tropical perennial plant is tuberous, much like Ginger, with long, white, fleshy fibers, and jointed appendages. The essential oil is steam distilled from the fresh roots of Plai plants which is wild grown in Thailand. Plai is in the same plant family as Ginger, but Plai possesses many different properties and has a more intense action. Rather than the classic warming effect of Ginger, Plai has a cooling effect on pain and inflammation, making it an excellent choice for treating injuries, muscular and joint pain and conditions such as arthritis and rheumatism.

Blends well with: Rosemary, Lemongrass, Lavender Russia, Tea Tree, Black Pepper, Grapefruit White, Lime, Sandalwood East Indian, Jasmine Absolute, Orange Sweet, Neroli, and Petitgrain.

History: Plai essential oil has long been used by Thai massage therapists.

Wild Crafted: This oil is Wild Crafted. Wild Crafted Oils are usually organic but not certified, normally because there is no certifying agency in the area where it is grown. Wild crafted oils are grown wild, without the use of fertilizers or pesticides - grown naturally in areas where the plants are native to the region. Not commercially cultivated.
