What is Pheromone?
Pheromones are a naturally occurring chemical compound found in all insects, all animals, and in humans. When pheromones are secreted they dictate sexual behavior and attract the opposite sex. The TRUTH about Pheromones is that for over 20 years, many scientist's and the media have done research and investigations regarding the power of pheromones. Studies have been conducted at major universities such as the University of Utah and the University of Kentucky. The information on the male human pheromone Androstenone (Osmopherone) and female pheromones was gathered from these sources and other manufacturer's of pheromone products and are deemed reliable. Researchers have shown in clinical experiments human pheromones trigger a subconscious sexual response in the opposite sex. One study had researchers spray pheromones on one chair in a dentist's waiting room. No other chair was sprayed. It was found more women sat in the chair sprayed with the pheromone then the others. It is pheromone, for one thing, that causes the male dog to chase the female in heat. Until the 1960's there was no research in the field to discover what makes the male of the species attracted to the female and vice versa. In the 1960's research began about the significance of pheromones. In 1986, researchers at the Monell Chemical Senses Center (an independent, nonprofit research lab in Philadelphia) announced the discovery of human pheromones. Animal pheromones were well known by then, but animal pheromones do not work on humans. The Mondell Center published reports in 1986, 1987, and 1989 outlined and detailed the function of pheromones. Much more research has been conducted since. What all of the research shows is that people do not "smell" pheromones, but detect them through our vomeronasal (VNO) system. The VNO system appears to consist of a small receptor in the nose that leads to a network of nerves in the the brain, going to the hypothalamus which is the center in the brain that controls one's basic drives and emotions. Women get attracted to men, and men to women, by sensing the subconsciously. It appears to cause women to be more attracted to the males who who have a high level of pheromones, and men to be attracted to women with a high level of pheromones. Men and women all produce natural pheromones which help to naturally attract the opposite sex. All animals emit pheomones to mate.
